This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Who We Are
Arabic Life (arabiclife.net) is operated by JCorp Australia, trading as Tork Network. We provide a subscription-based Arabic language learning platform.
2. What We Collect
We may collect the following types of personal information:
- Account information — name, email address, profile details
- Learning data — exercise responses, progress through units, scores, and streaks
- AI conversation logs — messages exchanged with the AI tutor
- Payment information — billing details processed securely by Stripe (we do not store card numbers)
- Authentication data — information received from Google or Microsoft when you use OAuth sign-in
- Device and browser information — IP address, browser type, operating system, and general location
3. How We Collect It
- Directly from you — when you register, complete exercises, use the AI tutor, or update your profile
- From OAuth providers — Google and Microsoft provide your name and email when you choose to sign in with their services
- Automatically — we collect device and browser information through essential cookies and server logs
4. Why We Collect It
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the Arabic Life platform
- Track your learning progress and personalise your experience
- Process subscription payments
- Power the AI tutor (your messages are sent to the Anthropic Claude API)
- Send transactional notifications (account confirmations, password resets, billing receipts)
- Improve and develop the platform
- Comply with legal obligations
5. Children's Data
Arabic Life may be used by children, including through our Kids Mode which is designed for younger learners. We take special care with the data of users under 18:
- Users under 13 require a parent or legal guardian to create and manage their account
- Parental consent is required before collecting personal information from children under 13
- Kids Mode applies data minimisation — we collect only what is necessary for the learning experience
- We do not knowingly use children's data for marketing purposes
- Parents and guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data at any time
6. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information with the following service providers only as necessary to operate the platform:
- Stripe — processes payments securely. Stripe receives your billing details directly.
- Anthropic — powers the AI tutor. Messages you send to the AI tutor are transmitted to the Anthropic Claude API for processing. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy.
- Supabase — hosts our database (PostgreSQL). Your account and learning data is stored here.
- Vercel — hosts the Arabic Life web application.
- Google & Microsoft — provide OAuth authentication when you choose to sign in with these services.
- Resend — delivers transactional emails (account verification, password resets, billing notifications).
7. Data Storage & Location
Your data is primarily stored on Supabase servers in Australia. However, some data is processed internationally by third-party services:
- Anthropic (United States) — AI tutor conversation data
- Vercel (United States) — application hosting and edge functions
- Stripe (United States) — payment processing
Where data is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (for example, financial records for tax purposes). Anonymised or aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and platform improvement.
9. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or outdated information
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au if you believe your privacy has been breached

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, including:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data in transit
- Row Level Security (RLS) on our database to ensure users can only access their own data
- Hashed passwords — we never store passwords in plain text
- Regular security reviews of our infrastructure and third-party integrations
No system is completely secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to us at hello@tork.network.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of material changes via the email address associated with your account. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
